Steel Sharp Agreement and Liability Waiver

This Agreement is entered into by and between the Customer and Steel Sharp (Service Provider), a Knife Sharpening Service, through the signed Order Form. This Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions under which the Service Provider will provide knife sharpening services to the Customer.

Note that “knife” stands for any tool, blade, or agreed object to be worked on and “sharpening” is a placeholder for any service to be rendered.

  1. Acknowledgment of Service By submitting a knife for sharpening, the Customer acknowledges that the Service Provider will sharpen the knife to the best of their ability based on the information provided.
  2. "As-Is" Service The Customer understands and agrees that the knife will be sharpened "as-is," and no further alterations, repairs, or modifications will be made beyond the specific sharpening service requested by the Customer and detailed on the Order Form. The Customer assumes full responsibility for the condition of the knife before and after the sharpening service.
  3. Risks and Liabilities The Customer acknowledges and agrees that:
    1. Knife Sharpness: After the knife is sharpened, the Customer understands that the sharpness of the knife may increase, and the knife may pose a greater risk of injury, including cuts, punctures, or other accidents. The Service Provider is not liable for any injuries or damages caused by the knife's sharpness after it has been returned to the Customer.
    2. Injury to Service Provider: The Service Provider agrees that they will not hold the Customer, its employees, or agents liable for any injury or harm to the Service Provider that may occur during the sharpening process or as a result of handling the knife, including, but not limited to, cuts, punctures, or accidents during the sharpening service.
  4. No Guarantee of Results The Service Provider does not guarantee the results of the sharpening service. Variations in blade material, damage to the blade prior to sharpening, or other factors may affect the final sharpness and overall condition of the knife. The Customer agrees that they will not hold the Service Provider responsible for any unsatisfactory results, including but not limited to damage or alterations that may affect the knife's functionality.
  5. Payment Terms Payment for the sharpening service will be made in full at the time the service is completed or as otherwise agreed upon. Failure to pay in full upon completion of the service may result in the retention of the knife until payment is made.
  6. Indemnification The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Provider, its employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in connection with the use, handling, or sharpening of the knife, or any injuries resulting from such use.
  7. Governing Law This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service Provider operates, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
  8. Entire Agreement This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Customer and the Service Provider regarding the sharpening service, and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
  9. Severability If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
  10. Acknowledgment of Terms By submitting the knife for sharpening service, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
